simply eggcellent – the first round-up

29 March 2015 by Dominic Franks

… well i’m chuffed to see how much you all share my love for eggs… what I knew i’d love about this link-up was how varied the entries would be … and not just cake either… From the sharp-sweet with Kat’s incredible looking limoncello cheesecake squares to the sophisticated savoury of Jen’s chorizo, red pepper and cheddar quiches… from Sarah’s surprising brioche chinois aux pépites de chocolat to the frankly quite bizarre wee blind mice from Fanny I think we’ve proved the egg can stand proud at how versatile and nutritious it really is…

1 – limoncello cheesecake squares by Kat from The Baking Explorer
2 – shaker lemon pie by Karen from Lavender and Lovage
3 – jammy bread and butter pudding by Suelle from Mainly Baking

5 – york mint brownies from Ros at The More Than Occasional Baker
6 – black and white animal cupcakes from Corina at Searching for Spice
7 – spring lemon and lime drizzle cake by Linzi over at Lancashire Food
8 – courgette and mozzarella frittata by Eating Enhanced

9 – orange tart by Cheryl from Madhouse Family Reviews
10 – orange raspberry swirl bundt with white chocolate ganache by Kate the Gluten Free Alchemist

16 – floating maltese cake by Caroline at Caroline Makes

17 – warm gingerbread cake with lemon sauce by Elizabeth from Elizabeths Kitchen Diary
18 – wee blind mice by dear Fanny from Keep Calm and Fanny On
19 – poached eggs, chard and pancetta on toast by Sally from Recipe Junkie
20 – irish stout mocha loaf cake by Stuart the Cakeyboi

21 – egg in toast from Claire the Foodie Quine
22 – marshmallow from scratch by Caroline from Caroline Makes
23 – gado gad by Jane from Onions and Paper
24 – three cheese and swiss chard pasta bake by Karen from Lavender and Lovage

25 – stout and salted caramel opera from Angela at Patisserie Makes Perfect
26 – rum and raisin cheesecake by Charlene at Food Glorious Food
27 – squidgy gluten-free chocolate cake by Kate at Gluten Free Alchemist
28 – brioche chinois aux pépites de chocolat by Sarah at Tales from the Kitchen Shed

29 – chocolate layer cake by Choclette from Tin and Thyme
30 – salad with spring greens by Galina at Chez Maximka
31 – foraged savoury vegetable cake by Kellie at Food to Glow
32 – chive gruyere gougeres by Alexandra The Lass in the Apron
33 – bacon and mushroom egg muffins from Ros The More Than Occasional Baker

so all that leaves me with is to say thank-you for joining in my new bloggers link-up.  I hope you’ve all had fun and enjoyed the round-up of eggy goodness.  Of course next month is Easter the festival of the egg so I think perhaps I may throw a theme into the mix in April but you’ll just have to watch this space to find out…

in the meantime don’t forget to eat and of course, enjoy!

You know what, out of all these wonderful entries, it's Ros's bacon and egg muffins that have caught my attention – I don't eat bacon! Thank for the round-up Dom.
